What is the best weapon in ANOMALITH?

No single weapon has been proven best in ANOMALITH yet. Pick a gun you can aim reliably, then compare upgrades and attachments under the same conditions before spending resources.

No single weapon can be named the best in ANOMALITH yet. Official material confirms firearm customization, but there is no controlled comparison of damage, ammunition economy, handling, upgrades and difficulty. For now, the best weapon is one you can aim reliably and keep supplied. Compare options under the same conditions before investing more resources.

That is editorial advice rather than a tested ranking. The game had not launched at the time of writing, and no reliable tier list existed. This page explains how weapons are customized, what the paid bonus weapons are, and how to make a fair comparison yourself. We will add measured rankings only when real test data is available.

Why there is no tier list yet

A defensible "best weapon" answer needs controlled testing. You would need the same weapon, upgrade level, attachments, enemy, difficulty and game version across repeated trials. That kind of evidence was not available in any source we checked. Rankings published without it are guesses.

Weapon performance in ANOMALITH also depends heavily on customization. Two players using the same gun with different attachments may have very different experiences. That makes simple rankings even less reliable. We prefer to explain the systems and let you test.

Firearm customization is confirmed

The official website confirms firearm attachments as part of the game's customization. Attachments let you change how a weapon behaves. In a TechRadar interview, the producer describes attachments changing a weapon's characteristics. That makes configuration a central part of any comparison.

The producer's October 21 letter announces at least seventy gun attachments. That is a content count from the publisher rather than an independently audited total. It still shows how many configurations are possible. With that much variety, the right setup depends on your play style.

Upgrades change the picture

Weapons also improve through resources collected during dives. The Steam store page describes anomalous objects becoming resources for improving weapons and gear. Noisy Pixel's review reports that weapon improvement has a substantial effect on combat balance. An upgraded gun can feel very different from its starting version.

The same reviewer found that an upgraded weapon was sufficient for much of the game. That is one person's route, not proof of a universal winner. It does suggest that committing resources to a weapon you like is a reasonable strategy. Our weapon upgrades guide explains the process.

The Deluxe bonus weapons

The Digital Deluxe Edition includes three bonus weapons. The US PlayStation Store lists them as the Semi-Automatic Sniper Rifle, the Double-Barreled Shotgun and the Prototype Handgun. The official website also lists the three Deluxe bonus weapons. They are part of the Anomaly Zone Countermeasures Office DLC Set.

Being in a paid edition does not mean these weapons outperform base-game options. No evidence shows they are mandatory or best-in-slot. Treat them as extra choices rather than an advantage you must buy. The editions guide compares everything included in each version.

How to choose a weapon now

Until measured data exists, choose based on how a weapon feels in your hands. Accuracy matters more than raw potential if you miss frequently. Ammunition availability also matters in a survival game where supplies are limited. A weapon that runs dry quickly can leave you exposed.

  • Pick a gun you can aim consistently at your preferred range.
  • Check how quickly it consumes ammunition on a typical dive.
  • Try different attachments before deciding a weapon is weak.
  • Commit upgrade resources once you have a clear favourite.

These criteria are practical rather than statistical. They help you avoid wasting resources on a weapon you will not use. Revisit your choice whenever you unlock new attachments.

How to compare weapons fairly

If you want to test weapons properly, change only one thing at a time. Use the same enemy type, difficulty and upgrade level for each test. Record how many shots and how much ammunition each kill takes. Repeat the test a few times, because a single encounter can mislead.

This method is how a reliable ranking should eventually be built. It also helps you notice whether an attachment really improves a weapon. Note the game version too, because patches can change balance. Our best build guide applies the same approach to full loadouts.

Controls affect how a weapon feels

How comfortable a gun feels depends partly on your settings. The September 29 update added keybinding options, sensitivity changes and mouse support for inventory and interface operations. In an interview with AUTOMATON, the producer discussed improvements for mouse and keyboard users after demo feedback. A weapon that felt awkward in an early demo may feel better now.

Before judging a weapon, adjust aim sensitivity until small corrections feel natural. Poor settings can make any gun seem inaccurate. This is especially important for precise weapons such as rifles. The Steam guide covers PC input support.

Weapons and skills work together

Guns are not your only tool. ANOMALITH has twelve Anomalization Skills that support gunplay. Hands-on previews describe these powers drawing on an MP resource. A weapon that pairs well with your favourite skills may be more valuable than one with higher damage alone.

Noisy Pixel's review also reports that gunfire replenishes MP. If that holds, a weapon that lands frequent hits could help you use skills more often. That detail is reported by one reviewer and has not been independently reproduced. See the skills guide for more.

Try weapons in the demo

The free demo on Steam, PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 lets you try the shooting before release. AUTOMATON's demo impressions highlight punchy gunplay, which suggests the shooting itself is a strong point. The demo is a good place to learn recoil and handling. Your demo save will not transfer to the full game, so treat it as practice.

Demo weapons and balance may differ from the launch version. Do not assume a demo favourite will remain the strongest option later. The demo guide lists the dated changes made so far.

When we will publish rankings

We will only publish a weapon ranking with documented test conditions. That means naming the weapon, upgrade level, attachments, enemy, difficulty, patch, damage and ammunition use. Each result will be repeated before we recommend a winner. Until then, this page stays a guide to choosing rather than a list of winners.

If you run your own careful tests after launch, we would like to see them. Our contact page explains how to send results. Include screenshots and your game version so we can verify them.
