Release · Checked October 25, 2026 · 5 min read

The western ANOMALITH physical edition is a PS5 Physical Launch Edition scheduled for November 12, 2026. That is later than the October digital release. NIS Europe lists it at £55 including UK VAT at the time of research. Japan also has physical PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 editions on October 29, and the Japanese Switch 2 package is a Game-Key Card.

Similarly named physical editions are not necessarily identical. Region, language support, format and included DLC can all differ. This page compares the confirmed physical releases and explains what to check before ordering. Western Switch 2 physical availability has not been announced.

Western PS5 Physical Launch Edition

The western PS5 Physical Launch Edition is scheduled for November 12, 2026. Gematsu reported the date on August 26, and NIS Europe's store listing confirms it. That is roughly two weeks after the October digital launch. Physical buyers should plan for the later date.

NIS Europe's listing includes bundled DLC with the Launch Edition. It also lists Japanese audio and English text. Those details matter if you are comparing it with digital or Japanese versions. Check the listing for the full bundle contents.

Western physical price

NIS Europe lists the PS5 Physical Launch Edition at £55 including UK VAT. That was the price at the time of research on October 25, 2026. Shipping and destination taxes can change the final cost. Check the store before ordering.

Gematsu reported a $59.99 price when the western physical edition was announced. That is an announcement price, not a verified current US checkout offer. Retailer prices may differ. The pricing guide lists every verified price.

Japanese physical editions

Japan's announcement includes physical editions for PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2. Both are scheduled for October 29, the same day as the global digital launch in Japan. FURYU's Japanese announcement establishes these regional boxed editions. It also lists tax-inclusive Japanese prices.

The Japanese announcement lists a Standard price of ¥8,580 and a limited physical or Digital Deluxe price of ¥12,100, both tax-inclusive. These are announced prices in Japan. They should not be converted into unofficial local prices elsewhere.

Switch 2 Game-Key Card

Japan's physical Switch 2 package is a Game-Key Card. Gematsu's announcement report distinguishes it from the Japanese PS5 physical release. A Game-Key Card is not described as a cartridge containing the full game. Expect to need a download.

This difference is important if you want a physical copy that works without downloading. Check the packaging details before ordering. The Switch 2 guide covers the digital Switch 2 version as well.

Physical releases compared

The table below summarises the confirmed physical releases. It is based on the publisher announcement, Gematsu's reports and NIS Europe's listing. Dates and details may change before release.

The only verified physical price outside Japan is NIS Europe's £55 listing for the UK. Japanese prices come from the publisher's announcement rather than individual retailer listings. Always confirm the current price with the retailer before ordering.

How physical dates compare with digital

The digital release comes first on every platform. The US PlayStation Store lists the PS5 digital release at October 28, 2026, 15:00 UTC, which is midnight on October 29 in Japan. Steam and the Nintendo US store display October 28 as their regional date. The publisher's global date is October 29 JST.

Japanese physical editions share the October 29 launch date in Japan. The western PS5 physical edition is the exception, arriving on November 12. If launch-day play matters to you, a western boxed copy will not arrive in time. The release date guide lists every platform.

Bonuses with physical copies

Gematsu's report shows that the western physical launch bundle may include bonuses under separate retail terms. Physical bonuses are not automatically the same as digital preorder bonuses. Each retailer or storefront can attach its own offer. Read the terms for the specific edition you order.

Some collaboration rewards in ANOMALITH require mission progression or unlocking a facility. That means a bonus may not appear immediately when you start the game. The preorder guide compares offers across platforms.

No western Switch 2 physical yet

The western physical edition announced so far is for PS5 only. Japan's Switch 2 Game-Key Card does not confirm a western boxed Switch 2 release. We will not invent western Switch 2 physical availability. Switch 2 players in the West can buy the game digitally on the Nintendo eShop.

If a western Switch 2 physical edition is announced, we will add it here. Check official announcements for updates. The digital Switch 2 release is covered in our Switch 2 guide.

Physical or digital?

Digital gets you playing at launch, while the western physical edition arrives on November 12. The US PS5 Digital Deluxe also advertises 48-hour early access. Physical suits players who want a boxed copy and can wait. Bundled DLC differs between editions, so compare contents.

  • Choose digital if you want to play on launch day.
  • Choose the western Physical Launch Edition for a boxed PS5 copy with bundled DLC.
  • Consider Japanese editions only if you understand import, language and format differences.

Our editions guide breaks down the Standard and Deluxe contents in more detail. It also explains which benefits are platform-specific. Recheck dates and contents shortly before you order.

Importing a Japanese edition

Some players may consider importing a Japanese physical edition. Before doing so, compare region, language support, format and included DLC. DLC codes may have region restrictions. Shipping coverage and stock also vary by retailer.

The Steam store lists English, Japanese and Korean text support, but physical edition language options should be checked separately. Japanese editions are designed for the Japanese market. Verify everything before ordering.

What is not confirmed

We have not seen a disc installation test or a confirmed complete-on-disc claim. We also have not verified DLC region compatibility or stock levels at every retailer. Shipping coverage should be checked at purchase. We will update this page as details are confirmed.

If you receive a physical copy and can confirm installation details, our contact page explains how to share them. Photos of the packaging help us verify formats. Please include your region.
